Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia (KCA) is the peak body leading best practice in industry engagement, commercialisation and entrepreneurship for research organisations. We achieve this through expert delivery of stakeholder connections, professional development and advocacy.
Vision: a connected, professional technology transfer community
KCA is a forum for sharing experience and achieving common goals as a collective across the member base. KCA provides the necessary tools and opportunities to spur on greater translation of research for economic and community benefit and create a more vibrant and productive Australasian economy.
KCA has many strategic alliances with counterparts internationally via the Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals (ATTP). KCA is a founding member of ATTP, the member based body of nine national technology commercialisation associations from around the globe unifying, educating and strengthening the worldwide body of practitioners.
KCA is the united, trusted voice of members, advocating their needs and interests to stakeholders in the broader community. In a bid to improve the translation of research for economic and community benefit locally, KCA aids in analysing performance and supporting improved practices, promoting the benefits of the knowledge exchange sector to the broader community and advocating for change to further enhance those benefits.
KCA is a strong advocate for Federal and State Government funding support for research commercialisation activities in the following areas:
- Concept development funding
- IP protection costs
- IP and commercialisation training for public sector staff
- Research to business exchange schemes (students, staff and technology)
- Development of strong alumni networks
- Support for research/business precincts and accelerators
- Purchase of local technology products and services
