Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the more commonly asked questions that we receive. If you cannot find the answer to your question, please submit your question via our contact page.

I'm not a KCA member - why am I being asked to login to register for an event?

If you have ever registered for a KCA event, chances are you are in the system and our database recognises your email address. Once you are in the system, you need to login to register for all future events and promotions. To create a password (or to reset it if you have forgotten yours), simply use this link and follow the prompts to reset your password. Please make sure you are using the same first and last name each time (not iterations of either name) otherwise the system won't recognise you.

What should I do if I don’t know my login?

If you are sure you are in the system and know the name (exactly as is, not iterations of the same name) and email address assigned to your personal profile, use this link and follow the prompts to reset your password.

If you are unsure of the name and/or email address assigned to your personal profile, please contact KCA to ask what it is and then complete the reset password exercise as outlined above.

What should I do if I’m having trouble logging in?

If the system doesn’t recognise your email, contact KCA. It’s likely that there is a double entry in the system and you won’t be able to login until that has been fixed.

I'm a Member registering for an event but the Member rate isn't showing

You will need to go and have a chat with your office CEO to ask them to add you to the KCA company member profile. Instructions on how they do that are outlined below.

I've paid for an event and can't find the invoice

You can retrieve all copies of old invoices by logging into your KCA profile and clicking on the "My Orders" tab. Any issues with logging in, please see above.

How do I purchase a KCA Membership?

KCA Membership is organisational based and runs the financial year (1 July – 30 June), so to get the most out of your membership (a list of member benefits can be found here), it is best to take out a new membership in June. Membership is purchased online, and can be paid for by credit card, direct deposit, or by cheque.

Simply head up to the “Membership” tab on the KCA website, scroll down and select “Join KCA.” You will be taken to a page that gives you the option to take out Full Voting Membership or Associate Membership. Select your preference and you will be taken to a page to enter your information. Once you have completed all fields on the information page and submitted the form, you will be taken to the payment gateway. Here you can select your payment option. If you select credit, you will be redirected to our secure, third party payment gateway.

Generating an invoice for an EFT payment

If you choose the direct deposit or cheque options, you will be issued an invoice which will provide further information as to how you can make your payment.

Please note that the person noted down when signing up for the membership becomes the company’s primary account holder, and it will be their login information that will be required to update company information, update staff members, and to renew memberships in future years. Please make sure that whoever registers the membership is the nominated “voting” person for the organisation, and ensure that their login details are noted somewhere safe for future reference.

Add staff to your Member profile

If you have taken out full-voting membership, you will now need to add members of staff to your company profile. To do this, you will need to be logged in. If you are not prompted to create a password upon registration, you will need to set one up. Use this link to establish a password for your account (and note that both your username and password are case sensitive so enter them exactly the same every time you login or else you will have trouble logging in). Once you are logged in, you will need to go to the Member Centre, click on My Membership, then find “Members” on the page, and then go to the “Add Members” section to enter the staff member’s details. Once you click “Add,” they should appear on the list below. Make sure that the “Member” tick box is selected, and then you are done. (Tip: To save problems occurring down the track, consider entering the name of your staff member as they are typically referred to in professional fields).

If you do not add your staff, the system will not know that they are KCA members and they will not receive the member price when registering events.

How do I renew my membership?

To renew your KCA Membership, you will need to be logged in.

If you are sure you are in the system and know the email address assigned to your personal profile, use this link and follow the prompts to reset your password.

If you are unsure of the email address assigned to your personal profile, please contact KCA to ask what it is and then complete the reset password exercise as outlined above.

Once you are logged in, you will need to go to the Member Centre, click on My Membership, and find the “renew membership” button. Follow the prompts and select your payment option. If you select credit, you will be redirected to our secure, third party payment gateway.

Please remember to add new staff and/or remove old staff from your Member profile

If you are renewing a full-voting membership, now is a good time to review the staff list assigned to the company profile and ensure that your staff list is up to date. To look at the staff list, you will need to go to the Member Centre, click on My Membership, and scroll down the page until you can see the list of staff. If anyone is missing from the list, scroll back up the page to the “Add Members” section and enter in the staff member’s details. Once you click “Add,” they should appear on the list below. Make sure that the “Member” tick box is selected, and then you are done. To remove staff no longer working for the company, simply untick the “Member” checkbox.

Please do not edit old staff profiles and overwrite them them with new staff details. Profiles are individual and can be taken with the staff member when they leave. The system tracks all their event activity and CPD points earned so its important that you always create new profiles for new staff.

Keeping the staff list current is particularly important around event time. If you haven't added staff to your KCA profile they will not be able to register for events at the Member rate.
